Brazil Butt Lift Sculpt workout

I just got word from Beachbody on Twitter that there is a new link for the video featuring me! Here is the new link:

Now for the really fun stuff. I mentioned yesterday that I am enjoying the Brazil Butt Lift Sculpt workout. It is awesome because it starts with some cardio for warm up, then moves on to weights focusing on shoulders, biceps and triceps. From there it goes to some butt and core moves. The results are off the charts! I literally feel the shape in my waist, and my arms are starting to show results as well!

Product feature: Arnica Montana

I was just reading Carl Daikeler's blog post http://carldaikeler.blogspot.com/
and wanted to post about my setback last week. I am a firm believer in no pain no gain when it comes to fitness, and all areas of life, but sometimes the pain is way to intense to work through. I had some back and shoulder pain that was so extreme that I was unable to sleep without taking Advil, and was also having some problems functioning at work without severe pain. I was considering getting acupuncture, and was searching for an acupuncturist - I have an amazing one, but she is located in Hood River, which is 60 miles from Portland where I live now. A co-worker of mine mentioned to me that I should try Arnica.

It was an interesting suggestion because I had taken Arnica in the past with great results for sports injuries.  Somehow over the years I had gotten out of the habit of having it around.  This time it was life saver.   I have never had such a great response

The next day, I was still in a lot of pain, and went to the store and bought some, and started taking it right away. The dose is 5 pellets 3 times a day for 3 days. By the end of day one I was already feeling results. Coupled with rest, the Arnica Montana after 3 days completely cured my injury. No more Ibuprofen, and no more resting during workout time! Back to BBL, WOWY everyday, and hello NO PAIN! I just had to share!

BBL updates

In case you didn't hear, it is official, I won the male Brazil Butt Lift Million Dollar Body competition for 2011! I am going to Los Angeles on an all expenses paid trip to the Coach Summit! I am beyond excited, but don't think for a second that this is the end of my transformation. I am working just as hard now through Bum Bum, and High and Tight, Tummy Tuck, and Cardio Axe workouts with Leandro Carvalho. I plan to keep up the hard work until I am fully ripped, then go on to the next program which I am pretty sure is going to be RevAbs. I have been looking for an ab program that focuses on Capoeira moves, and I think this is the one that is going to push me where I want to go. I love the Capoeira moves in the Bum Bum workout, and want to continue on that path. Summit is in June, and I plan to be in the best shape of my life! Stay tuned here for my progression pics, and contact me directly if you would like any information, or support.

Product feature: Zyliss quick blend shaker

A close friend, and Shakeology fan of mine turned me on to this amazing product.  Beto and I threw together this video, because it is not so intuitive if you aren't familiar with it.  The recipe we used is:

8 oz filter water on the bottom, then add
1/2 whole blood orange
1/4 cup frozen berries
1/2 frozen banana
2 Tablespoons hemp seed powder (optional, but good if you want extra protein, fiber and omega 3)
1 Tablespoon Chia seed (optional, but great for extra fiber and omega 3 fatty acids)
1 Tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil (optional, but great for extra calories to burn)
1 Scoop Greenberry Shakeology
4 oz filter water on top or enough to fill

Now simply screw on the base blade of your blender jar, flip over the shaker cup, blend, and enjoy!

Simple vinagrette recipe, and ingredient feature: Brewers Yeast

I have been experimenting a lot with Brewers Yeast as an ingredient.  Why you may ask.  Brewers Yeast contains a high amount of B vitamins, Protein, and Alpha-Lipoic Acid which is a featured supplement here.  Brewers Yeast also has a unique nutty/cheesy flavor which enhances a lot of dishes.  I have been sprinkling it on my homemade hummus, and on salads with amazing success.  I find that if you use the correct amount, you can actually omit the salt since it has a nutty salty aftertaste.

Check out this recipe.  It is super easy, and amazingly healthy.  Don't skimp on the ingredients.  Buy the best olive oil and Balsamic vinegar that you can afford because it makes a HUGE difference, trust me.  A little goes a long way, and quality of the ingredients makes the recipe come alive.  I buy the Brewers Yeast online at Swansons Vitamins.

This makes enough for a good size salad for 2-4 people:

1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 Tablespoon Brewers Yeast
1 Clove garlic peeled, and  grated with cheese grater (optional)

Combine all ingredients and stir with a fork until thick and smooth.

Supplement feature: Alpha-Lipoic Acid

In my research of optimum nutrition and health, I found out about this amazing supplement that I had to share. It is called Alpha-Lipoic Acid. It is considered an antioxidant and has very few side effects. I have been taking it for about a week now, and the results are outstanding! ALA helps to keep blood sugar levels under control. I think everyone wants this because it helps reduce sugar cravings, and it levels out blood sugar levels throughout the day. I take 200mg capsules twice daily prior to meals. Taking it on an empty stomach ensures that your body absorbs all the nutrients. Another effect is younger looking skin, and reduced wrinkles! Who doesn't want that? You can find the Spring Valley brand for $8.99 for 100 capsules at many grocery stores, so it is very reasonable, and you will feel the results.   I find that I feel way more patient, with a bonus feeling of well being.  The only sort of negative side effect I have found for me is asparagus smelling urine. In case you are wondering, I am not profiting in any way by sharing this info. I will be adding more supplement info here, so keep checking back. Also, check out this Swanson's vitamins Blood Sugar Essentials goo.gl/5ELGe
This supplement is recommended because it not only contains ALA, but also Cinnamon Extract which has also been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels, and vitamin K.

More info on Brazil Butt Lift and Super Saturday event in Vancouver, WA

Yesterday was day 2 of Brazil Butt lift, and I did the Tummy Tuck. It was grueling, but rewarding. I love how it does not stop. I was quite quickly and literally in a pool of my own sweat on the floor! It makes the Shakeology workout seem like a breeze! The best part of the Brazil Butt Lift is that during the workout it will cut between the studio where there are 8 or so people working out including some super ripped shirtless guys to the beach where there are also 8 or so people working out in BRAZIL on the BEACH in the SUN with swaying palm trees. How inspirational is that? Well for me, it makes all the difference. Thank you Beachbody and Leandro Carvalho for not penny pinching, and keeping us motivated because it SERIOUSLY works! I recommend this workout program to anyone who wants some serious cardio with their ab and butt routine. It is killer, and the time went by insanely fast with my heart rate at that level! Keep in mind, this is just one of the many workouts included in this value package.

Today new coach Beto Guimaraes and I attended the Super Saturday event in Vancouver. Thank you Jessica and Aaron for putting on a great motivational event. We both really enjoyed it. Carl Daikeler, Beachbody CEO, announced on Twitter earlier today that Beachbody is now 50,000 coaches strong! Pretty impressive news to start the day! At the event there were a couple Diamond coach speakers who were awesome in that they described how the Game Plan actually worked for them, and that over time, consistent baby steps really do create your business. For me, this was the best part of the presentation.

After that there was a long video which included Carl, and 3 other execs from Beachbody. They touched on some impressive commission payout figures for 2010 which I won't share on here, but contact me if you would like the numbers. They are forecasting 2011 to be even better! After that was a very long segment about new success club promotions for 2011 which frankly went over my head since I didn't really understand all the terminology. One promo I did get is that if coaches sign up 2 new coaches in January, they get a very cool exclusive "End The Trend" T shirt. The next segment was regarding fit clubs which I found very helpful, and there was a cool segment on the corporate Summit meeting which by the way is forecast to sell out by the end of February this year.

Another piece of news that was interesting to me is that last year's Summit workouts with 1500 participants are now edited, and will be available to club members online! I had predicted that this would be the next element of club membership, and now it is here! I just wonder if it will be mobile friendly. I don't think I am the only one that would like to workout traveling, and don't always want to travel with a bulky laptop. Now that over 50% of all Social Media interaction takes place on mobile devices, isn't it time that we workout with our smart phones?

Overall, it was a motivating and inspiring event, and I am definitely glad that I attended. Thanks to all involved!

Brazil Butt Lift for 2011

I received the Brazil Butt Lift, and am super stoked with the amount of workouts and material included in the package! I am more motivated than ever now that I measured myself, and found that I put on 2 inches around my waist over the holidays. OUCH! The odd thing is that my 32" Levis still fit, but apparently, I am hanging over the top which happened slowly over time, and I didn't really notice until I took the tape measure to the real problem area.

The great news is that the workouts so far are super entertaining, and go by fast because unlike the Shakeology workouts, there is no resting. The basic techniques are all covered in the Basics which goes through proper form and alignment. This means that during the actual workouts, there is no waiting for demonstrations. To me this is a very efficient method.

Here is my day 2 picture:
